We’ve been having an interesting set of classes recently with Andy King. Concentrating on moving our centre – hara – rather than our arms, starting with exercises such as Torifune and moving onto many others. We’ve also been doing interesting sets of training exercises to improve our timing, ma-ai and zanshin. We’ve been trying to put this all into practice with various forms of kokyu-ho and kokyu-nage, as well as core techniques such as shomenuchi irimi-nage and shomenuchi ikkyo.

Andy is holds the position of Fukushidoin (an Assistant National Instructor). The good news is that Andy will be with us until March 2015, and he has offered to teach our classes until then. Come and learn!
