…as a building
The Edinburgh Dome is remarkable building built in 1977 by inflating a circular membrane over which multiple springs were attached to points around the edge of the circle. Before inflation a special concrete mixture was poured. The pressure was kept up until the concrete had set. Around the base there is a moat to allow sunlight to reflect up into the dome. Opened by the Duke of Edinburgh.
…as our dojo
We use the Dome as our dojo (training space). Occasionally during the summer we use the grass outside the Dome on fine warm evenings for our practice.
