Keiko Monday 30 January: Tai-sabaki & Gyaku-hanmi Katate-dori
Tonight we’ll continue through body-movement (tai-sabaki) whilst kneeling and standing, and techniques Irimi-nage and Shiho-nage from a wrist-grab.

Sensei Paul will lead us through wrist grabs from the opposite stance (gyaku-hanmi) i.e. uke uses their right hand to grab uke’s left wrist.

Tonight will be Lena’s last class – and we’ll be sad to see her go when she returns home to Germany to resume her studies. Sensei Paul will be following up Sensei Steve’s class last week, building on Nikkyo Omote foundation. See you there!
A reminder to attend promptly: this evening Sensei Gillard (Shidoin, 6th Dan) will be taking the class. He will be joined by some off his students, so plenty of learning ahead!

We’ll be extending last weeks’ class of Chudan tsuki kote-gaeshi by looking now at entries from the side – Sokumen, as opposed to entries from the front (Omote) rear (Ura) that we trained last week.
